Step 1: Select an elementary school from the list below.
Step 2: Review data on capacity, walkability and diversity to determine if there are boundary changes needed to improve either crowding or under-utilization, walkability for children living in census blocks, and diversity of children attending the elementary school.
Step 3: Click on census blocks to associate them with a school, thereby changing the boundary of the school.
Step 4: Check to see how your boundary changes affected the capacity, walkability and diversity measures of your selected school and its adjacent schools.
Step 5: If you find a boundary scenario that improves building utilization, walkability, and diversity for a school and its adjacent schools, save the scenario with a descriptive name. For example, “Aiton ES best walkability scenario” and provide a short description of the benefits and challenges of the revised scenario.
